Police target noisy motorbikers
Motorcyclists terrorising a Leicester estate have been warned they risk losing their machines if they do not mend their ways.

Police have started an operation to combat anti-social behaviour and trouble with youths on Eyres Monsell.

Officers are targeting sites where there have been reports of criminal damage, anti-social behaviour and illegal use of motorcycles.

One motorbike has already been seized in the campaign to restore peace.

'Not tolerated'

Sgt Glen Iceton, from Leicestershire Police, said: "We have received reports of youths riding motorcycles in a dangerous manner and generally making people's lives a misery.

"This is a form of anti-social behaviour and will not be tolerated.

"Anyone riding a motorcycle illegally in the area should expect it to be seized as well as receiving a summons for driving offences."

The Police Reform Act 2002, gives the power to seize vehicles causing alarm, distress or annoyance.
