Illuminations damaged by vandals
Blackpool tower and illuminations
The lights were switched on by Dale Winton
Council workers mending some of the Blackpool illuminations which have been damaged by vandals.

Police were called to the tableaux on the cliffs at Bispham in the early hours of Wednesday after three men were seen damaging some of the displays.

Several of the features, including Postman Pat and the Teddy Bears, had parts ripped off.

TV and radio star Dale Winton flicked the switch last Friday night to light up more than six miles of the prom.

The lights have been a regular attraction in the resort since 1879.

They shine non-stop for 66 nights every year.
