Pair survive 200ft mountain fall
Helvellyn
Police said snow was covering the top of Helvellyn
A father and 10-year-old son were saved after slipping in freezing conditions and plunging 200ft (60m) from a path on Helvellyn in the Lake District.

The boy had head injuries while his father sustained leg, arm and back injuries. The pair were found at Red Tarn.

Police said they were in a party of five when they slipped in icy conditions on Wednesday.

They were flown to hospital by a helicopter from RAF Boulmer.
