Police forces from across the country are helping Cumbrian detectives investigate the death of a baby found encased in concrete. The body of the baby, named Lara by police officers, was found in a garage at Barepot near Workington over a year ago.
It is thought she had been there for more than 10 years.
Cumbria Police have written to other forces in England, Scotland and Wales for details of girls born between March 1989 and January 1993, with links to west Cumbria.
From an initial list of 3,800 names, Cumbria Police have asked other forces to check records on 120.
DNA testing
Their names will be cross-checked against health and education records to find out if they are still alive.
The remains of six-month-old were found in a disused garage in Barepot, near Workington, Cumbria, on 11 September last year.
Police believe her remains had been encased in the concrete block for more than a decade years.
About 15 scientists have been helping detectives and the possibility of carrying out DNA tests on people in the area has not been ruled out.
