An airline has announced it is expanding its services from an airport despite an ongoing inquiry into plans for a passenger terminal. Thomsonfly is increasing its number of low fares flights at both Coventry and Birmingham airports from Thursday.
An inquiry into plans to build a new terminal capable of handling up to two million passengers per year at Coventry will not end until May.
Airport owners TUI recently sold the airport to CAFCO, an American firm.
The firm intends to continue with the planned development.
The airline currently uses a temporary building, but the plans - originally sent to Warwick District Council - are for a new 10,000 square metre terminal with car parking.
The extra flights from Coventry include daily flights to Malaga and Alicante, three a week to Faro and seven a week to Salzburg.
Extra flights to Tenerife will depart from Birmingham.
Airport protesters have campaigned about the new terminal saying it raises issues of noise and pollution.
