Inspectors consider airport row
Government planners are visiting Leamington Spa to look into the row over the expansion of Coventry Airport.

Warwick District Council has objected to the plans to extend passenger facilities at Baginton.

A pre-inquiry meeting is being held on Monday ahead of a second public inquiry beginning in January.

The inquiry will consider the airport's two planning applications for a permanent passenger terminal to be built on the Baginton site.

Application A is for a 3,000 sq metre terminal, while application B is more than three times larger at 10,000 sq metres.

At a special planning meeting held last week councillors rejected officers' recommendations to accept a special series of controlling measures in relation to the plans.

The meeting is to reconvene on Wednesday.
