Opponents of a scheme to expand Coventry Airport have been protesting outside Leamington Spa town hall. A public inquiry into plans to build a new passenger terminal capable of handling up to two million passengers began on Tuesday.
Up to 50 protesters gathered outside the town hall as the 48-day hearing got under way.
Campaigner Martin Clive-Smith said the expansion raised issues of noise and pollution amongst other matters.
"We feel we have common sense on our side. We are not going to go away," he said.
Airport owners TUI recently sold the airport to CAFCO, an American firm which intends to continue with the planned development.
The airline currently uses a temporary building, but the plans - originally sent to Warwick District Council - are for a new 10,000 square metre terminal with car parking.
