Two years of restoration work begins on Monday on an 800-year-old cathedral in Cambridgeshire to preserve examples of gothic architecture. The stonework and pointing on the west front of Peterborough Cathedral and a series of 13th Century statues are in need of repair.
The first phase of the conservation, costing �100,000, has been supported by English Heritage.
The cathedral needs �500,000 to complete the whole project.
