A festival to celebrate the restoration of an 800-year-old cathedral severely damaged by fire was starting on Friday. The fire at Peterborough Cathedral in Cambridgeshire in November 2001 left the inside of the historic building coated with a layer of soot.
The organ was also damaged, and will be heard for the first time in four years when it is played by Olivier Latry from the Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris.
The organ recital will open the festival, which continues until Sunday.
On Saturday there is a special workshop for children presented by CBBC presenter, Matt Edmundsun.
The cathedral's director of music, Andrew Reid, will be giving a recital on Saturday afternoon, and in the evening there will be a gala concert of choral and organ music with the cathedral choir.
The festival concludes on Sunday with a celebration eucharist.
