Anger at Jane killer's 'porn tip'
Martin Salter
Mr Salter has written a "strongly worded" letter
An inquiry is being called for after claims the killer of teacher Jane Longhurst sent tips on internet porn sites from his prison cell.

Reading MP Martin Salter and Brighton MP David Lepper wrote to Home Secretary David Blunkett over claims that Graham Coutts sent out details of a site.

Coutts was jailed in February after strangling Brighton teacher Ms Longhurst, who grew up in Reading.

The claims concerning Coutts were recently made in a national newspaper.

It is alleged that the 35-year-old wrote a letter recommending a pornographic website to a friend while serving his sentence in Whitemoor prison in Cambridgeshire.

Reading West MP Mr Salter and Brighton Pavilion MP Mr Lepper have called for the claims to be investigated in a "strongly worded letter".

Ms Longhurst's mother, Liz, 72, who is leading a campaign to have violent internet pornography banned, said: "Graham Coutts should be encouraged to use his computer skills positively by the prison authorities and not allowed to pursue his sick sexual fantasies with people in the outside world."

During Coutts' trial at Lewes Crown Court, jurors heard he had looked at graphic pornography featuring women being choked shortly before strangling Ms Longhurst.
