How does a photographer capture beauty? | In a Hardtalk Extra interview broadcast on Friday 20 May, Gavin Esler spoke to Mario Testino, one of the world's top photographers. Mario Testino is the world's best known fashion photographer and his portraits have been compared to the works of the great painters Van Dyck and Joshua Reynolds. Born in Peru, his resume reads like a Who's Who of high fashion and high society. Kate Moss, Princess Diana and Queen Rania have all been in front of his lens. Although he operates in a world of unadulterated beauty he protests that the reality isn't always quite so fabulous. HARDtalk Extra can be seen on Fridays on BBC World at 03:30 GMT, 08:30 GMT, 15:30 GMT, 18:30 GMT and 23:30 GMT. It can also be seen on BBC News 24 at 04:30 and 23:30
