Michael Howard
Immigration and schooling will feature in the manifesto
After a short break for the funeral of Pope John Paul II and the marriage of Prince Charles, election campaigning begins again in earnest today.

The Conservatives will be launching its manifesto later in the day.

Here on Breakfast, we'll had more from our panel of video voters on what they want from Labour.

And, Declan Curry was in Chichester, on the latest leg of his election rally, where he debated the state of the National Health Service.

Don't forget there's still time to enter our caption competition.

This morning:

  • We talked to journalist and commentator Polly Toynbee, she was joined by Michael Brown from the Independent newspaper

They looked ahead to the Conservative manifesto launch, and the effectiveness of the pre-manifesto ad campaign

  • We crossed live to Chichester as Declan made his third stop on his tour of the UK - he's still got another 17 stops for the motorbike and sidecar.

Today the issue was health and he looked at how one hospital is trying to clean up its act and eradicate the MRSA super-bug.

    Dissolved

So what can we expect today?

  • Parliament will be officially dissolved by the Queen this morning

  • The Conservatives will be the first party to launch their, Michael Howard will expand on his party's promises on hospitals, the police, immigration and schools

  • He will delay giving details of tax cuts until later in the campaign

  • Labour is also due to publish part of its manifesto on education and the economy

  • Education will also be on the agenda for the Liberal Democrats, with Charles Kennedy spending the day outlining his party's stance on the issue
