| Thursday, 27 June, 2002, 12:34 GMT 13:34 UK 'Un-gridlock the UK' competition 4x4 Reports' traffic congestion competition is now closed - thank you for all your entries. The winners will be announced on 8 July 2002. Britain is the most congested country in Europe. We have half a million traffic jams every year - that's approaching 10,000 each week - and it is set to get worse. Winners' prizes The competition will be judged in two categories - over and under 16 years of age. The closing date for entries is midday Friday 14 June 2002 and the winning entries will be announced on Monday 8 July 2002. A short list of ideas will be put to Professor David Begg, Chair of the Commission for Integrated Transport, who advises the government on transport policy. In the under 16 category you can win a bicycle with safety equipment. In the over 16 category you can win a day-trip to Paris for two. Please ensure you have read the competition . |
