Turner Prize winner Tomma Abts received her prize from Yoko Ono in London. Abts is the first female painter to win the prize in its 22-year history. German-born Abts was the only non-Briton to be nominated for the award in 2006. She works with oil and acrylics that are always presented in the same 48cm by 38cm size. Abts starts work with no idea what she will create and allows the canvas to evolve.
