Environmental taxes used to pay for recycling or a new incinerator are being considered as part of a review into Jersey's waste management. The States' Environment Scrutiny Panel is carrying out the review into ways of improving the island's recycling rate.
Using taxes could help boost the amount of waste recycled from 32% to 100%. It could also help pay for an incinerator.
The Solid Waste Strategy include changes to collection, recycling more materials and building an incinerator.
The strategy continues to be debated by the scrutiny panel.
