Jersey politicians are visiting Norway as they investigate waste disposal. Senator Ted Vibert and Deputies Phil Rondel and Rob Duhamel are in Stavanger to see one of six waste-to-energy plants built by Energos.
The plant converts waste into thermal energy which is then used to provide heating and electricity for public buildings such as hospitals.
The Scrutiny Panel is examining a future waste strategy being proposed by the Environment Committee.
Last week its president, Philip Ozouf, was in Switzerland visiting an incinerator plant.
In the next few months Jersey's politicians will be asked to decide on the best way of dealing with the island's waste, including a replacement for the incinerator at Bellozanne.
