Commercial shake-up for airport
Jersey's new airport director says he will be considering new commercial opportunities at the airport when he takes over later this year.

Julian Green is replacing Mike Lanyon, when he retires.

Mr Green runs Newcastle Airport in Australia where he has increased passenger figures by more than 300%.

Latest figures show that 14,000 fewer passengers travelled in and out of Jersey Airport last year compared with figures for 2004.

Mr Green said: "It is a bit premature to say exactly what we might be looking at, but additional retail and aerospace support activities are things airports are doing around the world and I think there is scope to improve the airport's commercial portfolio.

"Any additional income will help support the airport's future development."
