Company vows to safeguard future
Emeraude Ferries says it is working with its parent company and the States to ensure its long-term future.

After a meeting with ministers and the Sogestran Group, the company says it is looking into finding ways to restart the sea link to St Malo.

It says the days of competing to have the fastest and the biggest - and so the most expensive - vessel are over.

The company added that in the future any decisions on a new choice of boat must be made with profit in mind.

The company recently had to cancel all its St Malo services while the Solidor 5 underwent emergency repairs.
