Builders hope for cut in red tape
Leaders of Jersey's building industry are sceptical about moves to reduce bureaucracy for businesses.

Jersey States are to debate the economic growth plan on Tuesday which aims to reduce red tape, increase enterprise and improve skills.

But Jersey Builders Federation says island politicians were taking about this in 1984.

President George Gilbertson says it is difficult for construction companies to go through the process of form filling.

He says this causes problems for companies working on fixed terms contracts because it leads to delays.
