Calls to scrap secret States vote
Politicians in Jersey may have to declare who they are voting for in the election for the top post in the new ministerial government.

The ballot for the post of chief minister has traditionally always been held in secret.

But now one Jersey politician is bringing proposals for an open vote.

Deputy Roy Le Herissier, who heads the States procedure committee, wants an open ballot for all the government posts including chief minister.
