Many people want a permanent solution to speeding traffic |
A St Helier politician believes drivers using a particular road in the town should be made to slow down as a matter of urgency. His comments arise from concerns about the safety of pedestrians who walk up La Pouquelaye Hill.
Temporary measures to stop traffic from speeding on the one-way section of the hill have been in place for some time.
But many people living nearby want a more permanent solution - such as a tarred pavement.
Among the temporary measures in place to force traffic to slow down are flower boxes which narrow the road.
St Helier Deputy Ben Fox believes installing a permanent solution should happen quickly.
He claims the parish now has sufficient funds for the work to take place.
