Budget cuts could hit facilities
Waterfront
WEB is responsible for several community facilities in the area
The Havre des Pas swimming pool and the skate park on the waterfront could be affected by the latest spending cuts from the States of Jersey.

The Waterfront Enterprise Board's (WEB) budget is to be reduced by about a third next year.

WEB is responsible for several community facilities in the area.

But with its funding about to be cut, finance director Geoff Borman said non-profit making facilities could be most at risk.

That includes the skate park and go-karts, Havre des Pas pool, and the maintenance of gardens and public spaces.

It is not yet clear if those facilities could actually be closed, or if people may be charged more to use them.

But Mr Borman says WEB will have to concentrate on making money in future, rather than on creating places for free use by the people of Jersey.
