Residents call for CCTV cameras

Deputy Terry le Main said CCTV cameras were too expensive
Residents in a block of flats in Jersey's First Tower say a CCTV system should be set up to stop vandalism and bad behaviour.

They have started a petition to make Les Jardins du Soleil safer.

The estate was opened six years ago in the centre of the First Tower area of the island.

Residents have complained the amount of vandalism and bad behaviour has increased and they want closed circuit television installed.

Housing President Deputy Terry le Main sympathised, but said CCTV cameras were too expensive.

He suggested closing off parts of the estate at night as a means of containing the problem.
