More single people are signing up for the festival |
The Isle of Man Walking Festival is due to get under way later. About 125 people will take part in the five-day festival, including a party of 13 who are travelling from Florida in the United States.
The most popular hike of the festival is the walk from Port St Mary, around The Sound and back to Port St Erin, and will be held for each day of the event.
Tourism and Leisure Minister David Cretney launched the event at the Villa Marina on Sunday.

He said: "The Isle of Man has some of the most spectacular views and scenery you could find anywhere and what better way of seeing them could there be than on foot. "We have developed this concept over the past three years and will be liaising with the walkers to see what further changes they would like to see." It is the third walking festival to be held on the island.
The festivals are organised by Terry Jones, a journalist and photographer from Chorley, Lancashire.
