Liverpool is the island's busiest route
The number of passengers travelling to and from the Isle of Man's Ronaldsway airport has topped 800,000 for the first time in its history.

The passenger numbers for 2005 increased from 773,743 to 806,565, a total of 4.3%.

The most popular route is Liverpool with 209,617 passengers followed by Manchester with 142,960.

Other routes from Ronaldsway include Paris, Newcastle, Blackpool and Belfast.

Phil Pain, airport director, said: "2005 was another record year, growing by 4.25% with 32,913 additional passengers.

"It is also the first time that the airport has seen over 800,000 passengers in a year."
