New Manx air services to take off
Isle of Man airport
Four return flights will operate to Liverpool every day
A new air service from the Isle of Man to Manchester has been announced by Irish airline Aer Arann.

Three return flights a day from Ronaldsway will be operated by the airline using a 50-seater ATR42 plane.

Starting on 24 November, the first flights will leave the island for Manchester at 0700 GMT and the last will leave at about 1900 GMT.

The launch follows the introduction of a new service to Liverpool which began at the beginning at the month.

Micheal O'Callarain, marketing manager, Aer Arann said: "Manchester is the capital of the north west of England and the regional centre for commerce, retail and leisure and we believe there is considerable potential for the development and growth of this route."

Phil Pain, airport director for the Isle of Man airport, said the route was "fundamentally important" for the island.
