New Manx air service to take off
Isle of Man airport
Four return flights will operate to Liverpool every day
A new air service from the Isle of Man to Liverpool has been announced by Irish airline Aer Arann.

Four return flights a day from Ronaldsway will be operated by the airline using a 50-seater ATR42 plane.

Starting in October, the first flights will leave the island for Liverpool at 0730 GMT and the last will leave at about 1800 GMT.

Phil Pain, director at the Isle of Man Airport, said the service would help to strengthen the island's biggest route.

He added: "Isle of Man to Liverpool is a fundamentally important air service for the island, both in terms of providing a frequent and cost-effective link with the UK for residents, and drawing visitors to the island from north west England."

Padraig O'Ceidigh, managing director of Aer Arann, said he was delighted with the deal.
