Race safety fear flyers removed
Flyers highlighting fears about horse safety have been taken down by organisers ahead of Guernsey's annual Bank Holiday race meeting.

It follows concerns about the state of the course at L'Ancresse Common.

The flyers showed a picture of a horse with a broken leg - highlighting the threat protesters feel rabbit holes on the common pose to horses.

But the organisers said all hazards will be dealt with prior to the race - and the track will be fully inspected.

The races on Monday afternoon are expected to attract thousands of visitors.

Organisers who were putting finishing touches to the course quickly removed more than a hundred of the flyers on Thursday.
