Plans for new waste site facility
A new facility to separate useful materials from rubbish is to be built in Guernsey.

Companies are being asked to bid for the contract to design, build and run the site for at least three years.

The facility at Longue Hougue will be used to rescue recyclable items from skips, and commercial rubbish.

In November, States members voted to continue using Longue Hougue as a reclamation site. It is expected to reach capacity by 2015.
