Sewage impact under investigation
The impact of pumping raw effluent into the sea in Guernsey is to be studied by the Environment Department.

Campaigners Surfers Against Sewage said the current system of disposing of sewage at sea will not be acceptable when EU legislation changes in 2008.

It claims water quality has got worse over the last 10 years.

Environment Minister Bernard Flouquet says it is vital to have all the relevant facts before a decision on a treatment plant is made.
