A senior politician has rejected claims that a dispute over parking of planes at Guernsey Airport is causing delays. The island's aero club believes a refusal by carriers to park nose first has put air traffic controllers under pressure, and could threaten safety.
But Public Services Minister Bill Bell insists the system at the new terminal is working well.
The new 19m terminal was designed for aircraft positioning themselves nose-in to free up spaces and prevent queues.
But the airlines are reluctant to pay for the equipment and staff needed to make the plan work.
The new terminal building, which was officially opened in March, replaced the island's 65-year-old former airport buildings.
It is designed to deal with more than one million passengers a year.
