Airport cost up 45% in four years
Guernsey airport
Guernsey's new airport terminal opened in March
Running costs at Guernsey's airport have risen by 45% in four years.

Inflation, extra staff costs to improve safety, and loan repayments for the new terminal are being blamed for the rise.

Customers are footing the bill through several means, including increased ticket prices, parking charges and profits from duty-free sales.

Airport Director Colin Le Ray said he predicted further funds would have to be raised to finance the resurfacing of the runway in a few years' time.
