States try again on alcohol fees
A second attempt is to be made to introduce a new Alcohol Strategy.

The proposals were first brought to the House in June, but were withdrawn as landlords complained they had not been properly consulted.

If States members agree, landlords' licence charges will increase to up to 2,500 depending on size.

The extra funds raised would be used to finance part of the Alcohol Strategy to tackle binge drinking and alcohol fuelled anti-social behaviour.

A controversial proposal to reduce the drink drive limit has been withdrawn from the revised strategy.
