Licensees reject States proposals
Licensees in Guernsey have said they are confident the problem of alcohol related disorder in the island can be tackled successfully.

The Hospitality and Tourism group admits there is a problem with current drinking habits.

But it said although it wanted to work with the authorities it believed many of the proposals outlined in the review of liquor licensing will not help.

It has suggested alternative policies which would see no change in the law.

They include proactive controls on disorder in bars to prevent trouble spilling out on to the streets, and an end to cheap drinks promotions.
