The future of a post office hangs in the balance after Guernsey Post announced losses of 800,000. Guernsey Post has nine branches on the island but the L'Islet outlet at Stampers has been losing money.
The post office is reviewing the profitability of its retail operation and it is estimated it would save at least 30,000 a year if it closed.
Guernsey Post has begun a consultation period for the islanders to have their say.
If the decision is taken to shut the branch, L'Islet will close its doors on 30 October.
Postwatch, the Post Office Users' Group will be meeting with the Chairman Mike Hall later this week to express its concern.
