Pedestrian campaigners hit back
A Guernsey pedestrian safety group has rejected claims that drivers are being forced onto the pavements to avoid oncoming traffic.

It follows comments from skip hire company owner Geoff Guilbert.

He claims the narrowness of the island's roads mean his drivers are being forced onto the pavements.

However, Pat Wisher, secretary of Steps (Stop Traffic Endangering Pedestrian Safety), said pedestrian safety was being threatened and more action should be taken against people who drove their vehicles on pavements.
