Work set to ease hospital parking
Princess Elizabeth Hospital
The hospital is suffering from serious parking problems
Work on the car park at Guernsey's hospital gets under way on Monday.

The next phase of the Princess Elizabeth Hospital's (PEH) site development plan begins with new parking facilities at La Corbinerie.

A total of 35 parking spaces will be lost during the work, but a further 226 spaces will be created on the PEH site by December. States approval was given after the issue was debated when the former Board of Health and Island Development Committee failed to agree on the plans.

The Board had put forward the plans to help ease parking problems at the hospital.

But the Island Development Committee had opposed the 800,000 plan saying the Board of Health had not done enough to explore the possibility of building a multi-storey car park instead.
