Parking restrictions to be eased
Parking restrictions for residents in St Peter Port in Guernsey are set to be relaxed next week.

The Traffic Committee is extending its residents' parking scheme which now includes nearly 1,000 households.

The scheme will now include Valnord Hill, Valnord Road, Mount Durand and Park Street, along with its junction with Rue du Pre.

Residents will be eligible for permits allowing them to leave their cars in the streets throughout the day.

The two-hour parking limit will only apply to other motorists.

The new arrangement means 100 five and 10-hour parking spaces in the area will be converted into two-hour spaces.

It is hoped the measure will cut peak time congestion in St Peter Port.

The committee plans to include more areas in the scheme later this year.
