Delays expected at road widening
Traffic jams caused by the road closure
Two-way traffic will still be allowed on St Julian's Avenue
Motorists in Guernsey are being warned to expect delays as work to widen St Julian's Avenue begins on Monday.

It is in preparation for additional traffic expected once the new Glategny Esplanade developments are finished.

The work means one of the two lanes heading towards the seafront will be closed for the next three weeks.

However, the road will remain open for two-way traffic.

New overhead traffic lights will be installed at the same time.

Bosq Lane is also being widened and will eventually be linked to St Julian's Avenue by an access road running through the middle of the former Royal Hotel Site. That is expected to open in May.

Other road closures include the Ville au Roi which also closes on Monday for three weeks and the Bouet which closed on Sunday for a fortnight allowing Guernsey Gas to upgrade underground mains pipes.
