Before the lane, there were tailbacks at the airport |
A filter traffic lane is being installed at the entrance to Guernsey Airport to control vehicle flow. The island's traffic committee says it hopes the system on the Rue des Landes will reduce tailbacks caused by motorists queuing to turn into the airport.
It is believed the changes should make the area safer for pedestrians and motorists alike.
The committee's director of traffic services, Colin le Page, said the road was very busy with a constant flow of traffic between the east and west of the island.
Mr le Page said he hoped the filter would create a safer environment for any road users and advised visitors to take care as they leave the airport.
