The land to be handed over is thought to be worth 10m |
A company which claimed land on Jersey's foreshore has dropped its case against the States. Les Pas had been claiming ownership of a large area of reclaimed land - from Le Dicq slipway to Payne Street on the Esplanade in St Helier - for several years.
It had also threatened to take the States to court over the issue.
But the States voted to give 10m of land on the Waterfront development to Les Pas before the case was brought to court, on the condition it gave up its claim on the reclaimed land.
Policy and Resources President Senator Frank Walker said he was confident States politicians would emerge free from blame.
He said: "What is important is that the actions of all the people - politicians and advisers and others - and who took which decisions, why and when, are made known to the public."
