Charge plans for vandalised pool
A Jersey businessman is appealing for help stop vandalism in Havre des Pas.

Mario Pirozolo, who runs a free outdoor bathing pool, has said it has been vandalised numerous times in recent months.

He says lights and hanging baskets have been destroyed and he is calling for more support to help him deter vandals.

He is also considering having to start charging visitors to pay for a security guard to stop it being attacked.

If we made a charge of 50p on busy days that would help us ..... but that would be a terrible shame
Mario Pirozolo
He said: "I have a dogged determination to improve the site.

"In the evening, we will look at security in other respects, including CCTV and lights.

"We also hope police will come and do some routine visits at various times through the night so people know it is policed."

Mr Pirozolo said he is reluctant to introduce an entry fee to pay for it, but may have no choice.

He said: "I figure if we made a charge of 50p on busy days that would help us to provide a guard here and security at night. But that would be a terrible shame."
