December closure for pool
Fort Regent leisure complex
Use of the pool by the general public will end in July

The swimming pool at Jersey's Fort Regent leisure complex is to close in December.

It was agreed the pool would shut for good six months after the new leisure pool at the waterfront opened.

Public use of the pool is due to end in July.

But people holding Active Cards and monthly swim passes will be able to use it for limited periods up to December.

Senator Mike Vibert, president of the Education, Sport and Culture Committee, said the pool closure would be the end of an era.
