War Child will sell a live remix of Radiohead's single Go To Sleep |
Exclusive new recordings by Radiohead and Keane are being made available on a website selling downloads in aid of the War Child charity. Radiohead's live remix of Go To Sleep and Keane's cover of The Walker Brothers' The Sun Ain't Gonna Shine Anymore will be sold from 9 September.
Proceeds from the warchildmusic.com download site will be donated to help the charity's global relief work.
Tracks are available at 99p each, or via a monthly 3.50 subscription.
Exclusive tracks
"This is an ongoing project which we're sure will quickly become essential for artists and fans alike," said managing director James Topham. "Although the profits are going to charity, the site is all about music.
"Every track - and we're after everything from covers to acoustic versions, live recordings, alternative mixes, remixes or simply unreleased tunes - will be exclusive to warchildmusic."
A new recording by art school rockers Bloc Party and a track by Lucky Jim - the first guitar band signed to Fatboy Slim's record label Skint - will also be made available via the site.
The site was launched earlier this month, when War Child's 1995 compilation album Help was made available online.
On Monday, the British Phonographic Industry announced that the number of legal downloads sold in the UK this year has exceeded two million units.
