The band decided to help the Spinal Injuries Association after their drummer, Neil Primrose, fractured his spine in July. The new song, Love Will Come Through, has been written for the soundtrack of a new Dustin Hoffman film, Moonlight Mile.
Primrose is still recovering from the surgery he had on his spine on 11 July. A spokesperson recently said he was making progress, but the injury forced the group to cancel their appearances at the recent V2002 festivals in Staffordshire and Essex. Primrose, 30, hurt himself diving into a swimming pool in Belfort, eastern France while the band were on tour. He was knocked unconscious and had to be dragged out of the water by friends. He is expected to make a full recovery. New material Love Will Come Through will be streamed on the official Travis site from 6 September before being made available to download from 15 November. It is the group's first new material since their chart-topping third album, The Invisible Band. The song will also be available on the CD of the film's soundtrack, which is being released in the US on 17 September. They will begin work on the follow-up to The Invisible Band later in the year, their website says. | See also: 29 Jul 02 | Entertainment 11 Jul 02 | Entertainment 10 Jul 02 | Scotland 21 Feb 02 | Entertainment 11 Jun 01 | Entertainment 07 Jun 01 | Entertainment Internet links: The BBC is not responsible for the content of external internet sites Top Entertainment stories now: Links to more Entertainment stories are at the foot of the page. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
