| Sunday, 15 September, 2002, 18:15 GMT 19:15 UK Double top for Atomic Kitten ![]() Atomic Kitten have covered several tracks Atomic Kitten have claimed a double victory by topping both the UK album and singles chart, holding off competition from a host of big names. The girl band's cover of Blondie's The Tide is High has clung on to the number one spot in the singles chart for the third week while their new album debuts at number one. The top three singles are made up of cover songs with Popstars "rejects" Liberty X's version of the Mantronix hit Got to Have Your Love entering at number two. Kelly Osbourne, daughter of hellraiser Ozzy, has secured her first hit single with a rock rendition of Madonna's Papa Don't Preach which debuted at number three. German techno outfit Scooter's new single Nessaja was a new entry number four. Former Boyzone star Ronan Keating failed to match the chart-topping success of his previous singles including Life is a Rollercoaster as his latest offering I Love it When We Do only reaching number five.
She was last seen on the search for a star series Pop Idol as one of the final 50 contestants in the running for a recording contract. Although she failed to make it into the final 10 she was snapped up by judge Cowell, who had been so bowled over by her that he offered to marry her live on the show. Atomic Kitten's album Feels So Good - named after a hit penned for them by Kylie Minogue - knocked Coldplay's critically-acclaimed A Rush of Blood to the Head off the top spot where it had sat for two weeks. The only other new entry in the top 20 album chart came from Irish indie band Ash's greatest hits collection Intergalactic Sonic 75 which entered at number three. | See also: 01 Sep 02 | Entertainment 26 Aug 02 | Entertainment 11 Jun 01 | Entertainment 31 May 02 | Entertainment 05 Mar 02 | Entertainment Top Entertainment stories now: Links to more Entertainment stories are at the foot of the page. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
