| Friday, 31 May, 2002, 12:16 GMT 13:16 UK Kelly Osbourne makes live debut Kelly (right): A career boost from the surprise hit series Kelly Osbourne, daughter of heavy metal star Ozzie, is to make her live singing debut at the MTV Movie awards. The whole Osbourne family have become unlikely celebrities after the success of the fly-on-the-wall show The Osbournes on the music TV channel MTV. Kelly will joins a line-up which includes rapper Eminem and hotly-tipped indie duo, The White Stripes, for the MTV ceremony on 1 June.
A spokeswoman for the music TV station said: "It seemed fitting that she chose MTV on which to make her live singing debut. "Knowing Kelly, she may even give Eminem a run for his money." Ewan McGregor and Natalie Portman - who recently starred in Star Wars: Episode II - Attack Of The Clones - are to join the celebrity presenter line up, which also includes Winona Ryder, Ben Affleck, Will Smith, Nicolas Cage, Jennifer Connelly, Matt Damon, Mike Myers and Anthony Hopkins. Second series The awards ceremony, hosted by Buffy The Vampire Slayer's Sarah Michelle Gellar and High Fidelity's Jack Black, will take place at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles. The success of the Osbournes TV show has already led to a contract for a second series, with 20 episodes set for broadcast in the US in the autumn.
The first series regularly reached an audience of six million viewers in the US and has already attracted 500,000 in the UK - an impressive number for cable.
