Jennifer Lopez has filed for divorce from her dancer husband Cris Judd, citing irreconcilable differences.

Lawyers said the couple, who married in September, had reached an undisclosed financial settlement.

"Jennifer Lopez and Cris Judd have announced they have resolved all issues arising out of their marriage," said a statement issued by their lawyers.

"The resolution was extremely amicable - the two will remain friends," the statement added.

Singer and actress Jennifer Lopez, also known as J-Lo, has just celebrated her 32nd birthday.

She met Mr Judd while working on her video for the hit single Love Don't Cost A Thing, and the couple married on 29 September 2001.

Court papers said they separated on 2 June.

Lopez left her previous partner, rap impresario Sean Combs, during his trial in New York on weapons and bribery charges. Combs was later acquitted.

Mr Judd was the singer's second husband.

Her first marriage, to Ojani Noa, ended in divorce in 1998 after a year.

Lopez later opened a Cuban restaurant in Pasadena, near Los Angeles, and hired Mr Noa to run it.

Recently the star has been linked with actor Ben Affleck, her co-star in her coming film release, Gigli.

The New York Post reported that Affleck took Lopez out for a birthday lunch in Manhattan on Wednesday and presented her with a diamond bracelet.

Lopez is currently filming Chambermaid, a romance set in New York about a hotel maid wooed by a wealthy political candidate, played by Ralph Fiennes.
