President Obama tackles foreign policy

On his third day in office President Obama has named his special envoys to the Middle East and to Afghanistan.

In a day of major announcements on foreign policy he has urged the Israelis and Hamas to work together to sustain the ceasefire.

He has also signed an order to close the Guantanamo Bay detention centre within a year.
