The United States Senate has confirmed Hillary Clinton as Secretary of State in President Barack Obama's new administration.
The Senate unanimously approved Mrs Clinton's nomination despite Republican concerns about her appointment.
Mrs Clinton has said that foreign policy should be about pragmatism, not rigid ideology.
